CEPURNIENE‘S GOLD FROM THE 2006 WORLD‘S Lithuanian Alina Cepurniene, 37, was the
most conditioned athlete among all of the middleweight class up to 57 kg
competitors at the 2006 World Championships held in September in Santa
Susanna, Spain. Displaying
cuts and good symmetry with great muscle balance she won in the
ultra-competitive category outscoring defending champion Jana Purdjakova of
Slovakia (Purdjakova was the title holder also in 1998, 2000 and 2002 as
well). The bronze medal went to Irina Muntean
of Romania, earlier twice 1998 and 2002 World champion.
189 competitors from 40
countries took part in the 2006 Women‘s World Bodybuilding, Fitness
and Body Fitness Championships in Santa Susanna, Spain.
Cepurniene‘s gold medal
from the World Championships is the second in Lithuanian women‘s bodybuilding
history. In 1994 World champion title was won by Natalija Murnikoviene. Alina
Cepurniene congratulated by Egle Rasciute (Executive Assistant to the
President of Lithuanian Federation and General Secretary) and Rafael Santonja (EBFF President).
